The Inspiration for DOLLY UNIVERSE Collection mainly comes from my 4 sons and the love for their movies. Watching movies at home when they were little and seeing their faces ( even after 1000+ times;-) when Buzz Lightyear is going to infinity and beyond is just precious. Yes, (my) Precious when they were a little older, but still quite young actually, seeing LOTR ( Lord of the Rings) not even to mention Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel legends, and, few weeks ago Interstellar ( my favorite movie too) is just unforgettable.

Planets, Universe, Space ships, Action and their colors are key elements in my DOLLY UNIVERSE theme for little girls.

The DOLLY UNIVERSE Collection is for cool adventurous girls who like to dance and explore the planets and galaxies of the universe. Luxurious, comfortable velvet and sequins tutu dresses in beautiful colors like Black Hole black, Star White, Mars Planet Caramel ( same as the yummy caramel in the Mars bar 🙂

and of course Pink from the Pink Planet ( yes, a real pink planet exists). Choose our Cosmic Strings and Planet Tutu dresses or go dancing in the Glitter Galaxy dress, just enter the Dolly Universe!

DOLLY new muse model: A real DOLLY - A Mannequin resembling DOLLY's original muse model and my daughter Isabella.

For my collection campaigns I used to have our daughter Isabella as the recognizable muse model with the blonde hair, however, she, of course, grew into a teenager. I had to find something else for my campaigns.

The brand name DOLLY

The name DOLLY comes from Doll and I named my brand DOLLY, because Isabella was born as our 5th child after 4 beautiful boys. The first time I dressed her in a dress, I held her up high and said: ' You look just like a Dolly'!

Doll clothing shows bold and big silhouettes, due to the scale, which is just that cute look I want for little girls so DOLLY, my fashion brand arose!

New Model and Campaign photos

For the lifestyle pictures for our DOLLY World, UNIVERSE and next years DINER Collections I have chosen to be more arty, stylistic creative and especially and deliberately use one mannequin dolly because it fits DOLLY brand even more and its very modern in the digital and Ai styled era we are in at the moment. Not to forget the Barbie impression after the movie. It invites girls to become DOLLY to wear DOLLY clothes even more especially because it's not a real girl. Our DOLLY mannequin is the new mascotte from now on to have more brand recognition. You can easily see that it's the DOLLY brand so becomes very familiar for customers and potential customers. For the first years of starting my brand I used my daughter Isabella as the only muse model for DOLLY brand to have 1 familiar face for the DOLLY brand, but she has grown into a teenager now, so I made a mannequin looking just like her.

With different hair colors we show different types matching the colors of clothes creating the art pictures. The mannequin and dresses you see are real, so you see the actual products from the collection. Just like Barbie, who is one face liked by the whole world basically, our DOLLY mannequin is the one familiar and recognizable face for the DOLLY brand. The mannequin is the only actual DOLLY and girls can relate and dress just like DOLLY.

What was the inspiration for my DOLLY WORLD Collection?

The Barbie movie with Margot Robbie from 2023 was a big inspiration for me as the DOLLY designer. I must admit that as a child I did not have Barbie dolls, but one Cindy doll. I was more into plush animals, painting and board games. Later, when my love for 50's and 60's fashion begun, Barbie was added to my inspiration list with her stylish looks from those same eras. My DOLLY brand has a lot of pink shades and Barbie's world too. Besides our signature color Ballet Pink, Barbie pink is on DOLLY's palette since the beginning too.

Campaign Style Photos

For the DOLLY WORLD campaign pictures I photographed our new muse real Dolly Mannequin with my dresses and tutus on ai Barbie World inspired backgrounds. The mannequin and dresses you see are real, so you see the actual products from the collection. Ai is the trend of today and I love the imagination and style of ai backgrounds because it fits perfectly with the style and themes of my DOLLY collections. I always photographed my daughter Isabella, which was my muse model till she became a teenager and I made a real mannequin dolly resembling her to replace her. On all my campaigns you can see Isabella photographed on the front and often, more mysterious, on the back looking towards a 'world' or a scenery in an outside nature location. That gives a bit of a stylistic image which is my signature as a red thread to the many years of DOLLY. ( Yes, next year 2025 we will celebrate our 20th. anniversary!)
